This June 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th you won’t want to miss Summerfair 2011! Now in its 44^th year, Summerfair has built its reputation as the place to go for beautiful and interesting works of art. There will a variety of different types of art to admire like ceramics, photography, jewelry, 2D and 3D art, painting, wood carving and more! The artists of these marvelous pieces are from all over the country and Canada. In addition to all the gorgeous and unique art will be great music, gourmet food, and a youth area for kids to enjoy.

Tickets are only $10 per day, including parking. Children 12 and under are absolutely FREE! The fair will be open from 2p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 3^rd. On Saturday, June 4^th the fair will be open from 10a.m. to 8p.m. and on Sunday hours are 10a.m. until 5p.m.

Book your room at the Cincinnati Holiday Inn Express West for a great Big Bug adventure! This summer, take a trip to Glenwood Gardens to catch a glimpse of 13 enormous insects. Get up close and personal with a 20 foot tall praying mantis, 10 foot tall ants, and a 600 pound daddy-long leg!

In addition to these fantastic creatures created out of wood and other natural materials, there will also be concerts, outdoor movies, and children’s bug themed programs. There will be a variety of different concerts including a Beatles Tribute. Families can also watch Charlotte’s Web under the stars. Weekly children’s program themes include: Bug Olympics, The Music of Bugs, Bugs in Art, Bugs with attitude, and Bugs as Pets.

Tickets are only $7 for adults and $5 for children 2 to 12 years old. For this low price you get to see Big Bugs and the Highfield Discovery Garden. Click here to order tickets. Big Bugs is open to visitors Tuesday through Sunday. Most days the exhibit opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 5:00p.m. However, on Thursdays hours are extended until 8:30p.m. On Sundays, the exhibit is open from 12:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.

Sunday, May 1^st will be the 13^th Annual Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati! Make a weekend of it, join in on all the fun events that will be going on, and stay at the Cincinnati Holiday Inn Express West.

The Flying Pig Marathon is the third-largest first-time marathon in the country! It’s THE marathon to go to for runners of all ability and experience levels.

On Saturday there will be a variety of races. Kids can participate in a one mile Flying Pig Marathon and adults can participate in the 5 or 10K races that day.
