The Hoinke Classic began during WWII to support the United States and promote bowling. Winners of the Hoinke Classic were given War bonds and stamps. The first prize for singles and doubles Hoinke Classic was a $1,000 war bond. In 1980, the Hoinke Classic first prize jumped to $40,000. Since then there have been 22 consecutive payoffs of $1,000,000!
Today there are singles, doubles, and team events. Singles can enter for $50 in hopes of winning a $20,000 prize. Doubles can enter for $70 and go after a $20,000 prize.
